this is the PHP installer I used to install PHP.. I don't find the Pear installation in that installer.. php-5.2.5-win32-installer

Welcome to go-pear!

Go-pear will install the 'pear' command and all the files needed by
it. This command is your tool for PEAR installation and maintenance.

Running in local install mode

Go-pear also lets you download and install the PEAR packages bundled
with PHP: MDB2.

If you wish to abort, press Control-C now, or press Enter to continue:

HTTP proxy (http://user:[email protected]:port), or Enter for none::

Below is a suggested file layout for your new PEAR installation. To
change individual locations, type the number in front of the
directory. Type 'all' to change all of them or simply press Enter to
accept these locations.

1. Installation prefix : C:\Server\PHP
2. Binaries directory : $prefix
3. PHP code directory ($php_dir) : $prefix\pear
4. Documentation base directory : $php_dir\docs
5. Data base directory : $php_dir\data
6. Tests base directory : $php_dir\tests
7. Temporary files directory : $prefix\temp
8. php.exe path : c:\server\php\php.exe

1-8, 'all' or Enter to continue:

The following PEAR packages are bundled with PHP: MDB2.

After many, many attempts trying to use the web based installation, even the manual .php file, I gave up on those. By turning on error reporting, I discovered that at some point in the installation, the process was unable to find a file it needed. (I'm sorry about being vague, but I am not on my home computer and wanted to get this out). So, instead of trying everything from the server base, I moved to c:/php5, then ran the go-pear.bat file. Bingo! So, if the goal is getting it to work, who cares how, you might try running go-pear.bat with the current directory being where the go-pear.bat file resides.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having the same problem...trying to install remotely. using go-pear.php seemed to be the easiest option, even though it's listed at the very bottom of the install instructions:
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/installation.shared.php

here are the files/directories that were installed:
PEAR bin cache lib pear.conf temp

(not including subdirectories/files, etc)

Could you please explain to me how you call php to run the installation. With php -f go-pear.phar i get the following error under Windows with the latest php release:
phar "C:\Programme\PHP\PEAR\go-pear.phar" does not have a signature
PHP Warning: require_once(phar://go-pear.phar/index.php): failed to open stream: phar error: "index.php" is not a file in phar "go-pear.phar" in C:\Programme\PHP\PEAR\go-pear.phar on line 1237
PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required 'phar://go-pear.phar/index.php' (include_path='.;c:\programme\php\pear') in C:\Programme\PHP\PEAR\go-pear.phar on line 1237

I must say that i am a newbie to this kind of Pear installation.

I am a newbie myself. I ran it from the dos command line " php go-pear.phar " Perhaps this might help - http://php.net/phar

I found the solution for my problem with go-pear.phar in this forum! Very Happy
Of course within a DOS-Box. Change to the directory where the file go-pear.phar resides:

php go-pear.phar did not work for me, but:

php -dphar.require_hash=0 go-pear.phar

Change your go-pear.bat file:

@ECHO OFF
set PHP_BIN=php.exe
%PHP_BIN% -d output_buffering=0 -d phar.require_hash=0 PEAR\go-pear.phar
pause

run it from inside the php home dir.

Download and uncompress Structures_Graph from the pear.php.net website. Copy the Structure folder into the PEAR folder so that the key files are located as such:

PEAR\Structures\Graph.php
PEAR\Structures\Graph\Node.php

Change this line in Node.php (if necessary):
require_once '/Structures/Graph.php';

Execute the PEAR directory:
pear upgrade=all

That did it for me.
